What guests say

Loved by travellers.

An absolute highlight of our Istanbul trip. The guide made it so relaxed — we both walked out with a lamp we're genuinely proud of.

London, UK

I've done craft workshops across twelve countries. This had the best ratio of instruction to creative freedom. The sunset slot is something else.

Mika T.

Helsinki

My lamp is the most-complimented thing in our apartment. Worth every euro and every minute.

Why Balat

The city's most storied neighbourhood.

Balat has been Istanbul's melting pot for centuries — Greek, Jewish, Armenian and Ottoman layers folded into steep cobblestone streets and candy-coloured houses. Our studio sits inside a 19th-century courtyard a few minutes from the Fener Greek Patriarchate. Making something here, with your hands, is the real souvenir.
